Polarity Therapy

Polarity Therapy is a whole-health system developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, D.O., D.C., N.D. Dr. Stone felt that something was "missing" in traditional western medicine and wanted to explore what this was. He spent nearly 50 years seeking via different medical practices, healing techniques, exercise systems, and cultures with other health related philosophies. The "missing piece" he discovered, was an awareness of energy in the body. Most traditional forms of medicine focus on a subtle bio-energy system as the underlying foundation of health. This important concept is strangely absent in Western cultures. Polarity addresses an individual on all levels of their being. How deeply a client wants to and is willing to explore these different levels is up to them. Polarity works with four main modalities to address a client's health: Thoughts, Nutrition, Polarity Yoga, and Bodywork.
Polarity therapy works with the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction basically works like this: what you put out, is what you will get back. So, for example.. if you are thinking "I am so poor, I feel like crap, I don't have enough energy, I will never find the right job, I hate my life"  that's what you will get! I probably don't have to explain to you that if you are thinking the exact opposite, that is also what you will get! Thoughts create reality and it's important to take stock of them and notice the general trend.
If a client brings up the subject of food/nutrition we can also work with their diet. Generally, food is a 'loaded' subject and I don't normally bring it up unless a client wants to explore it. I am sure you have noticed for yourself the effect food has on your mood, your body, and general state of well-being. Simply put, food can be used to help us on our path towards health, or it can keep us stuck.. even leading us towards dis-ease.
Polarity yoga is a specific form of yoga created by Dr. Randolph Stone. He designed the postures to make them easy for anyone to do. They are meant to assist a client in maintaining a level of balance and vitality easily throughout the day. You can do them pretty much anywhere and at any time, as long as you feel comfortable!
Last, but certainly not least.. we have the awesome bodywork. Polarity works with the five elements: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. These elements are all around us in the natural world, and they also contribute to who we are mentally, emotionally, and physically. Ether is the 'river' from which all the other elements flow through. Ether is space and openness. Air is related to our desire, our thoughts, our breath. Fire is our will, vitality, our drive and digestion. Water is our concept of cohesiveness, love, attachment, flow and letting go. Earth is our practicality, our structure, our sense of home and stability/security. These elements correspond to energy pathways along the body, which can become blocked. A practitioner restores the flow of life-force by connecting different points along the pathway. The points are where muscle, bone and nerve come together and they tend to be fairly tender.
A polarity session can be a very powerful experience where a client can reconnect with their wisdom and gain insight into their life.
